YSR Congress Party on Tuesday expressed doubts over the sincerity of CBI probe in the Emaar Properties case as the course it has been charting shows clear discrimination.
“The investigating agency has to specifically tell as to why and in what capacity Sunil Reddy was called. Is it for
questioning or is he there as an accused,” party official spokesperson, Ambati Rambabu told reporter here.
“The inquiry appears to be going not in a straight direction but clear indications are seen that it is aimed at
harassing YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, his family members and party workers,” he said.
While Chandrababu Naidu is named in Emaar Properties case and a freedom fighter has filed a case in Supreme
Court as to why Naidu should not be questioned in the case, there was no response from the investigating
agency.
It was Naidu who sold 530 acres of land at throw away price of Rs 29 lakhs to Emaar Properties of Dubai while
Naidu sold the adjacent land belonging to his family for Rs one core. When this matter came to the open, CBI did
not question him till now.
YSR has appointed a committee to look into the share of Emaar and State Infrastructure Corporation headed by K
Rossiah with Botsa Satyanarayana and Dr Geeta Reddy as members. The CBI did not seek any details from
them either.
CBI called neither Naidu nor the Committee members that inquired into the discrimination of share in the venture
of villas and convention centres till now, raising doubts on the line of investigation, he said.
