Gattu -Apr23,2012

Describing the dharnas by Congress and TDP at Vizianagaram as a political drama and a ploy to register their existence, YSR Congress Party on Monday demanded the State Government to make public the ACB report on the liquor syndicate.
“The war of words of Congress and TDP at Vizianagaram is just a political stunt as they have to make their presence felt. Skirting the main issue, leaders of both parties are harping on insignificant details only to mislead the public and to show that they are political rivals, though they are working in fusion ,” YSRC spokesperson, GattuRamachadnraRao told reporters here.
The ACB report clearly mentions that 20 ministers and 40 MLAs were involved in the scam. Instead of making public the names and the ACB report, the ruling and opposition parties were trying to put up a show by staging dharna at Vizianagaram only to show that they are two separate entities while in fact TDP is a branch office of Congress, Gattu said.
“The person who was arrested in the liquor scam is a TDP leader and he has revealed that he bribed the Excise minister. Congress never questions that and TDP will never ask the Government to arrest the ministers and MLAs whose names figure in the ACB report,” he said.
When an Excise officer is transferred no opposition questions it, all this is possible as both the parties are equally involved in the liquor syndicate, he said.
The root of every scam can be traced to nine-year term of N Chandrababu Naidu, he said adding that the bauxite mining lease agreement was signed during TDP term, he said reacting to senior Congress leader Kishore Chandra Doe’s remarks on bauxite mining in agency areas and YSR’s nod to the activity.
“It is the Centre that has to give permission for mining. The origin of the bauxite mining is the contract TDP government signed with Dubai-based Company,” he said.
When asked about the Vijay Sai Reddy case, he said, the way in which CBI opposed the bail to him makes its intentions clear. It behaved in a different way when it came to N Chandrababu Naidu.
Whether or not to arrest a person whose name figures in a CBI case, there are many examples like BotsaSatyanarayana, Mayawati and many others were not arrested though charge sheets were filed against them, he said. There was undue an uncharitable publicity to the case and a section of media has been constantly trying project YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in poor light. Bofors case went on for a long time and Rajiv Gandhi was not targeted nor was he arrested, he said.
