Chandrababu lacked sincerity

YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy

Palasa: YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy asked the audience to pose the question to themselves if TDP rule did them good. The TDP government had neglected all sections of society. It backed out on its promises of farmers' loans, loan waivers for women's groups, drought input subsidy among hundreds of other promises. Be it the fee reimbursement scheme or the healthcare initiative launched by Dr. YSR, Arogyasri, Chandrababu Naidu had diluted all welfare-oriented schemes, he pointed out. Arogyasri dues are not being paid to hospitals and as a result people suffer, YS Jagan remarked.

Chandrababu only screened movies on Polavaram and Amaravati with no work to back up his publicity, he said. YS Jagan asked the audience to recall the AP chief minister's election promise to women of retrieving gold from banks. But after nearly 5 years has it happened?, he asked. The women instead got bank notices, he added. This is true with regard to all his election promises, the YSRCP chief commented.

As the elections loomed large Chandrababu laid the foundation stone for the Kadapa steel plant and indulged in other such pre-poll stunts. The AP CM announced that 5 lakh homes are to be sanctioned as announced by the yellow media. This was another gimmick, he added.

Referring to Chandrababu's shifting stance on Special Category Status to AP, YS Jagan pointed out that the AP chief minister lacked sincerity. He added that the chief minister of neighbouring Telangana K. Chandrashekar Rao backed the demand for SCS to AP and said that if 42 MPs representing both the Telugu states exerted pressure on the Centre, it would have had no choice but to yield to the demand. However, Chandrababu was politicising even this important matter, he remarked.
