Tadepalli, August 8: Former Minister Merugu Nagarjuna has strongly condemned the political tactics employed during the Pulivendula ZPTC by-election led by Chandrababu Naidu, resorting to manipulative and unethical strategies to influence voters. Naidu has consistently engaged in dishonest politics, exploiting the tragic murder of Vivekananda Reddy to gain political mileage. "Every time elections approach in Kadapa, Naidu orchestrates false propaganda through Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter, Sunitha, and her husband, portraying Sunitha as a pawn in his political game," Nagarjuna stated. Naidu is reigniting the Vivekananda Reddy murder case to sway public sentiment.
Naidu’s camp is attempting to frame MP Avinash Reddy as a political scapegoat, questioning why key details, such as the second wife of Vivekananda Reddy and her communications, have not been made public. He pointed to the case of Dastagiri, who confessed to the murder but was later made an approver, raising suspicions about external influence. "How does a car driver like Dastagiri, with limited means, now own a convoy and have an expensive lawyer like Siddharth Luthra, known to be associated with Naidu, defending him?" Nagarjuna questioned, urging Sunitha to clarify her alignment with her father’s adversaries.
On the electoral front, Nagarjuna raised serious concerns about irregularities in the 2024 elections, particularly in Pulivendula, where systems are controlled by Naidu. He highlighted discrepancies in EVMs, noting that in Vizianagaram, EVMs showed 40% charge during polling but 90% post-election. Additionally, discrepancies in VVPAT slips have fueled doubts about the integrity of the process. "We have demanded CCTV footage from the counting process and urged the Election Commission to address our concerns about the 2024 elections," Nagarjuna asserted, emphasizing that the public’s trust in the democratic process is at stake.
Naidu is fostering anarchy while manipulating public perception. Nagarjuna concluded by calling on citizens to reject such tactics and demand transparency in both the Vivekananda Reddy murder investigation and the electoral process.
