YSRCP leaders meet Governor, complain on Pulivendula violence

Vijayawada, August 7:A delegation of YSR Congress Party leaders met Governor Abdul Nazeer here on Thursday and submitted a complaint against the growing violence by TDP goons in Kadapa district during the local body by-elections.
They alleged that law and order had completely collapsed and that the police system was supporting the ruling coalition instead of maintaining neutrality. The leaders requested the Governor to ensure that elections in Pulivendula are conducted in a peaceful and impartial manner.
The YSRCP delegation, led by Legislative Council Opposition Leader Botsa Satyanarayana, informed the Governor that TDP-backed rowdies launched violent attacks in Pulivendula using deadly weapons. Vehicles were vandalised, and YSRCP leaders were allegedly targeted with an intent to kill. Botsa told the Governor that MLC Ramesh Yadav was seriously injured in the attack, and the police failed to act, siding instead with the ruling TDP. He also brought to the Governor's notice how the police force, including Kurnool DIG Koya Praveen, was making biased remarks.
Speaking to the media outside Raj Bhavan, Botsa Satyanarayana questioned whether democracy was still alive in the state, stating that MLC Ramesh Yadav, a BC leader, was not given basic protection. He said police were acting under government pressure and ignoring serious attacks. The delegation demanded immediate action and also submitted a complaint to the Election Commission seeking free and fair elections in Kadapa.
The leaders said they had explained to the Governor how the ruling coalition was weakening all institutions. They warned that police should not act like political agents, reminding officials that power is not permanent and systems must work as per law.
