Chandrababu orchestrating chaos in Pulivendula to cling to power

Tadepalli, August 7: Former Minister and YSRCP Guntur District President Ambati Rambabu criticised CM Chandrababu Naidu for orchestrating chaos in the Pulivendula ZPTC by-election to cling to power, driven by fear of defeat. Speaking at YSRCP’s Tadepalli office, Rambabu claimed Naidu’s declining political graph has led to unlawful tactics, including police collusion and false cases against YSRCP leaders to manipulate the by-polls.
Rambabu criticized Naidu’s 14-month coalition government for losing public trust, resorting to “goonda politics” to suppress opposition. He cited attacks on YSRCP leaders like MLC Ramesh Yadav and Velpula Ramu, where assailants attempted to set Ramu’s car ablaze, yet police filed an SC/ST atrocity case against the injured victim. “Naidu’s fear of losing Pulivendula has pushed him to misuse police to intimidate voters and frame our leaders,” Rambabu said, warning officials of consequences for crossing ethical lines.
Highlighting YSRCP’s victory in the Visakhapatnam Greater Municipal Corporation Standing Committee election, securing 50 votes despite TDP poaching 27 corporators, Rambabu called it proof of public support. He accused Kurnool DIG Koya Praveen of abandoning law and order to serve Naidu, stating, “Khaki uniforms are for justice, not Naidu’s bidding.”
Rambabu slammed Naidu’s Singapore tour with Nara Lokesh as a pretext to stash ill-gotten wealth, noting Singapore’s parliament clarified no government ties with Andhra Pradesh. “Naidu’s 58 trips yielded no investments, only deception,” he said. He also criticized the TDP’s liquor policy for enabling extortion through permit rooms and hiking shop commissions to 15%, contrasting it with YSRCP’s efforts to curb liquor sales. Rambabu called Naidu’s free bus travel scheme for women a diluted promise, limited to 6,000 buses, betraying election pledges.
