YSRCP gets Badal’s support

Dec 13, 2013: YSR Congress has found another supporter in the form of Shiromani
Akali Dal, with Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal expressing solidarity
with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that assembly resolution is a must before splitting
any state.
“Before dividing any State the assembly resolution
should be taken first. The will of the people should be reflected by the
resolution and it should be adopted by a two-thirds majority,” he told
reporters after meeting YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The Punjab Chief Minister said in no uncertain
terms that an assembly resolution with two-thirds majority should be taken
before dividing any State.
Even in panchayats, to do anything a resolution is
passed with two-thirds majority and when the matter concerns division of a
state the assembly must be taken into confidence, he said.
