YSRCP flays TDP for using force

Hyderabad: YSR Congress has said that the State cannot be run with the barrel of a gun or a police baton. The governance should confirm to democratic norms. The recent reverses have put the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in frustration, the party said.

“With the massive public outcry on the Seshachalam forest killings and judiciary too intervening in the issue, the government is in a piquant position. To add to it, the court passing remarks against the forceful land acquisition for capital area. All these have cornered the Chief Minister and no wonder, he appears frustrated,” party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu told reporters on Saturday.

There has been a public outcry in the State and neighbouring Tamil Nadu and various human rights organizations have condemned the killings. TDP government is running for cover as it has no proper defence.

On the capital formation as well, court has said that farmers can file the papers to express their unwillingness to part with their land and it also applies to those who have already given their land. There are widespread complaints that force was used to take away the lands for capital city formation. On both the occasions, the State has used force and has drawn the flak, he said adding that social activist Medha Patkar had said that farmers are being threatened in land pooling for capital formation.

Farmers of West Godavari district are badly affected by Pattiseema. The TDP is afraid of MLA Roja and there are attempts to foist false cases against her as she is articulate and the ruling party is unable to digest her criticism, he said.
