Sajjala slams coalition’s vindictive politics

Guntur, May 9: YSRCP State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy condemned the coalition government’s systematic harassment of opposition leaders through fabricated cases, following his inquiry at the Guntur CID office over an alleged attack on the TDP office.

Addressing media here on Friday, Sajjala reiterated his cooperation as a responsible citizen, clarifying he was campaigning elsewhere during the incident and had no involvement. “I informed the authorities of my absence during the event, as I did in a prior inquiry, and provided evidence,” he stated, affirming his readiness to attend future probes.

The coalition government is resorting to “diversion politics” to mask governance failures and unfulfilled promises. “Red Book regime” has unleashed relentless persecution, targeting YSRCP leaders with baseless cases to silence dissent.

“Chandrababu Naidu’s goal is to crush questioning voices,” Sajjala asserted, noting that even remand reports reveal the illegitimacy of these cases, lacking evidence or basic acquaintance between accused and complainants. He cited the midnight arrest of actor Posani Krishna Murali over a decade-old social media post and the recent 3.00 AM arrest of Kantheru MPTC member Kalpana, a Dalit woman, as egregious examples of police misconduct. “Police dragged Kalpana away in her nightclothes, ignoring her pleas to change, showing no respect for women or constitutional values,” he said.

Sajjala further condemned the coalition’s attacks on media freedom, highlighting the unauthorized police search of Sakshi editor Dhanunjaya Reddy’s residence. “Targeting a senior editor without permission reflects their reckless abuse of power,” Reddy said and dismissed the alleged liquor scam as another fabricated case, creating artificial scandals to distract the public. “Eleven months of this systematic vendetta, filing false cases, manipulating statements, and harassing innocents, have exposed their intent,” he stated.

Sajjala warned that the coalition’s actions are sowing dangerous seeds of oppression. “If we mirrored these tactics upon regaining power, where would TDP stand today?” he questioned, emphasizing that time will hold the coalition accountable. He urged the government to focus on constructive governance rather than intimidating YSRCP workers. “Our cadre cannot be subdued by arrests or jails, people are tired of this diversion politics,” predicting public backlash if such injustices persist. Sajjala called for the coalition to cease unconstitutional actions and earn public trust through meaningful work.
