Hyderabad, December 29:
Hitting out at the double standards of TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, YSR
Congress has said, that he should have a pre-fix to the Praja Garjana Yatra which
he is undertaking from Sunday and must be categorical about his stand on the
division of Andhra Pradesh.
“Unless he defines his
Garjana and the purpose whether it is for division of the State or otherwise,
he has no moral right to go to the people. He should first tell with clarity
whether he stands for a united state or wants it to be split,” party leader
Dadi Veerabhadra Rao told reporters here on Sunday.
Since he has begun the
Yatra from Tirupati, he must name it as Samaikya Praja Garjana and should
explain as to why he had given the letter expressing his support for dividing
the State. On one hand he gives a letter to bifurcate the State and on the
other he undertakes a Yatra in the Seemandhra region which is vehemently
opposing the division.
He should end this
stalemate and pronounce in clear terms whether he stands for a divided state or
for a united state. Every political party will have a policy on important
issues but TDP is lurking on both sides of the fence which is not a healthy
practice, he said.
Even when the TDP leader
has called on the President, his complaint was that the State is not being
divided properly under the provisions of the Constitution. He has always been
speaking of division but has never said about keeping the state united.
“He did not tell the
President the need to keep the State united but complained about the division
procedure. Now Naidu touring the Seemandhra region after giving the letter to
divide the State and refusing to withdraw it shows that he is double crossing
the people,” he said.
