*Can Eenadu expose TDP's betrayal of BCs?: Ramesh Yadav*

Tadepalli, Oct 13: YSRCP BC Cell State President and MLC Ramesh Yadav challenged Eenadu to scrutinise Chandrababu Naidu’s unfulfilled promises to Backward Classes instead of publishing misleading reports against YSRCP.
Addressing the media at YSRCP headquarters, he condemned Eenadu’s report titled “YSRCP’s Political Game on BC Reservations” and questioned its silence over TDP’s failure to implement its BC Declaration, particularly the promise of 34% reservations. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government introduced 34% BC reservations through GO 176, but court proceedings initiated by Birru Pratap Reddy obstructed their implementation. YSRCP subsequently ensured additional BC representation even in general-category positions.
During Jagan’s tenure, BCs received benefits worth ₹1,82,750.71 crore through DBT and non-DBT welfare programmes, with 5,53,66,581 recorded benefits. Political representation included 11 of 25 Lok Sabha candidacies (44%), four Rajya Sabha positions and over 28 of 58 MLC positions. BCs also received substantial representation among Zilla Parishad chairpersons, mayors, MPPs, MPTCs and sarpanches, alongside dedicated BC corporations and welfare initiatives.
Ramesh Yadav condemned the targeting of prominent BC leaders, including former ministers Seediri Appalaraju, Jogi Ramesh, Vidadala Rajini, Tammineni Sitaram and Karumuri Nageswara Rao, through politically motivated cases.
He challenged Eenadu to examine official welfare figures, investigate cases against BC leaders and question the coalition government’s record on education, economic assistance, political representation and reservation commitments. Journalistic accountability requires equal scrutiny of YSRCP and TDP.
