YSRCP Demands CBI Probe Into Guntur Illegal Mining

Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party leader Kasu Mahesh Reddy demanded a CBI investigation into rampant illegal mining in Guntur district. He alleged that just to keep the main accused in illegal mining, TDP MLA Yarapatineni Srinivasa Rao away from any case, the TDP government was foisting cases on innocent people.

Mahesh Reddy said that government used police to stop the YSRCP fact-finding committee on illegal mining from visiting the quarry sites. The YSRCP had given notice to the government several times to permit them to visit the sites. The party would approach court and get permission for the fact-finding committee to visit the illegal mining sites in the district.

He further said that CID investigation would not bring out the truth. It was better CBI investigates the issue. He demanded that the government take over the lands in which illegal mining was being operated. He was surprised that despite such a major scam taking place, the BJP, Congress and Jana Sena have not bothered to question.
