Tadepalli, April 6: YSRCP state spokesperson Karumuri Venkata Reddy stated that sections of the “yellow media,” particularly ABN Andhra Jyothy led by Vemuri Radhakrishna, are deliberately spreading misinformation to divert public attention from the growing support for YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s MAVIGUN capital corridor proposal. Speaking at the party central office in Tadepalli, he said the Machilipatnam–Vijayawada–Guntur (MAVIGUN) corridor is gaining widespread acceptance as a practical, low-cost capital alternative with strong infrastructure advantages, including port access, national highways, railway junctions, and proximity to an international airport. He noted that while Amaravati would require massive expenditure of around 2 lakh crore to build basic infrastructure, the MAVIGUN region could be developed into a competitive urban hub with a fraction of that cost, making it a viable growth engine as supported by economic experts.
Karumuri said that ABN resorted to defamatory and objectionable content, including inappropriate remarks against women and personal attacks on YS Jagan and his family, under the guise of journalism. He said such content reflects a deliberate attempt to derail meaningful discussion on policy alternatives and mislead the public. He demanded that Radhakrishna issue an immediate apology for the objectionable remarks, warning that continued defamatory campaigns would invite strong public and political response. He further alleged that fear of exposure over alleged irregularities in Amaravati has led to coordinated diversion tactics through aligned media and platforms, but asserted that YSRCP will continue to take the MAVIGUN vision to the people.
