YSRCP condemns TDP land pooling: Jyothula Nehru

Hyderabad, Condemning the land acquisition policy of the TDP Government which is heavily loaded in favour of the developers, YSR Congress has said the indiscriminate land acquisitions, pooling and allotments are not in the interests of farmers and economic growth.
“Farmers have knocked the doors of the High Court to redeem their land which shows that the acquisition was done in a forceful manner and the latest development of acquiring more land on the other side of the river front and stretching capital area extent goes against the interests of farmers and serves the commercial purpose of the developers,” party deputy floor leader Jyothula Nehru told reporters here on Thursday.
Social Activist Anna Hazare has written a letter to Chief Minister N Chadrababu Naidu in which he said that acquiring fertile lands for capital area development is not a wise move. The letter seems not to have gone well with the State Government. It did not respond positively and some of the leaders have been passing uncharitable remarks which show the dictatorial attitude of the State.
While there is resentment across the country on the land acquisition and a farmer committing suicide at a public meeting, TDP Government has gone one step ahead by forcefully acquiring land from farmers and giving for development to its favoured contractors on Swiss Challenge method which will reap rich dividends to the contractors, he said.
“The allotment of 400 acres of land to an organization of Jaggi Vasudev will also come under scanner after we come to power,” he said.
