Gannavaram, Sept 28, 2012: YSR Congress Krishna district leaders , who tried to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy at the Gannavaram airport, were prevented and pushed away by the overenthusiastic police on Thursday.
Party district convener Samineni Udayabhanu, Mahila wing convener Tatineni Padmavathi and 20 other local leaders arrived at the airport 20 minutes ahead of the arrival of Kirankumar Reddy’s convoy.
They informed the police they would submit a memorandum to the CM listing the problems of the district and seeking fast solutions to them and requested they be permitted to meet him. As the police refused to allow them to meet the CM, YSR Congress party leaders tried to reach to the convoy with a view to meet Kirankumar but they were all pushed aside.
In the melee, Padmavathi and others fell to the ground. This has angered the YSR Congress leaders who raised ‘CM down down’ slogans opposing the highhandedness of the police.
