*YSRCP demands immediate payment of DA arrears to employees, pensioners*

Tadepalli, Sept 12: YSRCP Employees and Pensioners Wing State President Nalamuru Chandrasekhar Reddy accused the TDP-led coalition government of deceiving government employees and pensioners by delaying their legitimate financial benefits. He said five DA instalments are pending, though DA is due every six months, and the government has now issued orders for only two. He stressed that DA is a right of employees and should not be projected as a “bonanza” or “Diwali gift.”

He said the government was further delaying payments by proposing instalments instead of clearing the arrears immediately. Crediting employees’ arrears to GPF accounts or CPS employees’ dues to PRAN accounts would not provide immediate financial relief, he said. Pensioners should also be paid their entire arrears in cash instead of four instalments. He pointed out that even DA arrear orders issued last year were not implemented and not a single instalment of the previously announced four instalments was paid.

Chandrasekhar Reddy said more than Rs 40,000 crore was due to employees and pensioners, including DA, PRC and surrender leave arrears. He questioned the delay in appointing the Pay Revision Commission and demanded its immediate constitution along with announcement of Interim Relief.

He also demanded immediate cash payment of pending DA arrears ahead of the festive season, abolition of CPS and restoration of OPS. The government should implement all promises made to employees and pensioners during the elections and announce a clear action plan on DA, arrears and PRC. “Employees need justice immediately, not more promises,” he said.
