Don’t Make IAS officers Scapegoats for Lokesh DSC Scam: Perni Nani

Machilipatnam, September 11: Former Minister Perni Nani warned IAS and IPS officers not to become victims of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s and Nara Lokesh’s wrongful decisions, stating that the government was now trying to shift the blame for DSC irregularities and its own failures onto officials.

Speaking to the media after the Krishna district YSRCP extended meeting in Machilipatnam, Nani questioned why officers were being targeted while those who issued controversial GOs and those who produced false sports certificates were being protected. “Is your son blameless? Are those who sold jobs and those who brought fake certificates blameless? Are IAS officers alone responsible?” he asked Chandrababu.

Nani recalled that soon after assuming office, Chandrababu had instructed Collectors to practise “political governance.” He said it was unacceptable for the Chief Minister, after issuing wrongful GOs and pushing the State deeper into debt, to now reprimand officials and make them responsible for the government’s actions. He cautioned district officials, IAS and IPS officers not to carry out unlawful instructions or become scapegoats for political decisions, particularly in the DSC issue.

On the upcoming local body elections, Nani said the Krishna district meeting was organised on Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s directions to prepare the party cadre for the electoral battle. He said the coalition government had failed to sanction even a single new pension for two years and was now displaying sudden concern for beneficiaries because municipal elections were approaching.

Nani said YSRCP would expose Chandrababu’s betrayals and unfulfilled promises before the people and fight with determination to win every municipality. He said the district leadership and cadre were fully prepared to secure victories across the municipalities and present them to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
