*Attack us and then file cases against us: Ambati Slams TDP Coalition*

Tadepalli, Sept 22: Former Minister and YSRCP Guntur district president Ambati Rambabu condemned the attack on YSRCP leaders and the subsequent registration of cases against more than 250 party members following the protest near the SAAP office.

Speaking at the YSRCP central office, he alleged that groups associated with Nara Lokesh attacked peaceful protesters with sticks and stones in the presence of the police. He said the protest was organised to demand a CBI inquiry into alleged irregularities in DSC sports-quota appointments.

Ambati said more than 400 of the 16,000 DSC posts were filled under the sports quota and that evidence of bogus and duplicate certificates was emerging. He questioned why the government was afraid of a CBI investigation if no wrongdoing had occurred.

He accused the police of failing to protect the protesters and later registering cases under Section 307 and the SC/ST Act against YSRCP leaders, including persons who were not present at the protest. He said several leaders accompanying him were detained at Kaza Toll Plaza but were shown as participants in the Vijayawada incident.

Ambati also alleged that plainclothes police forcibly detained Vinay Kumar while he was returning after meeting Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said the party had video evidence and would place it before the courts.

“Power is not permanent. The police cannot stop this movement through false cases and arrests,” Ambati said. He warned Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu against allowing Lokesh to control law and order, saying it would damage both the government and democratic institutions.

Ambati asserted that YSRCP would continue fighting for deserving DSC candidates regardless of attacks, arrests or cases.
