Assembly: YSRCP MLA Visweswar Reddy criticized the Government for not paying attention to waiving farmers’ loans and moreover blaming the banks. He mentioned that the farmers were suffering due to their loans not being waived. Speaking during the question hour of the assembly, he demanded to know if the Government cared to waive the loans at least this time.
Already the loans to be waived amounted to Rs.5000 crore. While the centre announced that they had sanctioned funds of Rs. 1,40,000 crore, Chandrababu had stated that he received nothing from the centre. So Visweswar Reddy demanded to know the truth. He commented that there was no clarity regarding gold loans. He expressed his concern that around 400 farmers in the state had succumbed to suicide till now due to their loans and held the Government responsible for this.
