YSRCP slams govt failure as mango farmers await YS Jagan’s support

Tadepalli, July 7: YSRCP leaders have condemned the coalition government for failing Chittoor’s mango farmers, who are suffering heavy losses due to the lack of a minimum support price (MSP). As former CM YS Jagan prepares to visit Bangarupalyam to support the farmers, the government is reportedly obstructing his tour. Leaders, including former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakara Reddy, former MLAs Dr. Sunil and Biyyapu Madhusudhan Reddy, ZP Chairman Govindappa Srinivasulu, and Chittoor in-charge MC Vijayananda Reddy, inspected helipad arrangements for Jagan’s visit, vowing to secure justice for farmers.
The leaders criticized the government’s inaction, noting that farmers are abandoning crops due to low prices. Bhumana highlighted Karnataka’s Rs. 16 per kg MSP against Andhra Pradesh’s mere Rs. 4 per kg, accusing Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of making empty promises. “The government’s incompetence and delays in permissions show their fear of Jagan exposing their failures,” he said. Dr. Sunil denounced the coalition’s intimidation of farmers to prevent them from meeting Jagan, calling it deplorable. Vijayananda Reddy affirmed farmers’ trust in Jagan, undeterred by threats. Madhusudhan Reddy criticized the government’s ignorance of mango marketing, while Srinivasulu questioned why 21 coalition MPs failed to secure central support, unlike Karnataka’s JDS. YSRCP demands immediate relief and a fair MSP for farmers
