We have no faith in State investigation

Hyderabad: Reiterating the demand for a third party inquiry into the attack on Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, YSR Congress leaders met Governor ESL Narasimhan and submitted a representation seeking his intervention in the matter.

Speaking to media after the meeting at Raj Bhavan here on Thursday, party leaders Dharmana Prasada Rao and MLA RK Roja said, "We have no faith in the State investigation as the DGP and Chief Minister had already set the tone by meeting the press and making every effort to dilute and deviate the incident."

When Chandrababu Naidu, heading the government, and DGP, who is leading the State police, makes such irresponsible statements within minutes after the attack, how can any State agency working under them do justice to the investigation, they said.

"This is precisely the reason why we are seeking a Central agency probe as the State investigation has already deviated and left out the vital conspiracy angle and efforts are being made to dilute the issue to treat it as a minor one though the attack AP Leader of Opposition was an attempt to murder," they said.

The conspiracy angle has to be taken up as the assailant Srinivasa Rao may not be directly benefiting from the elimination of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, but it is the TDP and its leadership that would reap the benefits for sure.

"We strongly believe that a proper investigation would look into the details as to who is behind the attack and to what purpose, the perpetrators and their motive. The language used by a TDP MP and state ministers shows that they are into murder politics and people are living at their mercy," they said.

"Suddenly, Operation Garuda has come into picture and actor Sivaji, who has been propagating theories of conspiracy should be arrested along with Fusion Foods owner, Harshavardhan Choudhary, who is a TDP functionary," they said.

While his home State has been in such a chaotic situation of lawlessness, Chandababu Naidu went to Delhi to hold closed door meeting with Congress President Rahul Gandhi which is ironic as TDP was formed on anti-Congress plank. This shows that Chandrababu Naidu cannot go to elections on his own but needs support of other parties unlike YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who has been waging a lone battle all the time against all odds and emerging victorious winning the hearts of people," they said.
