Vijayawada: Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy pointed out that the state Chief Minister N Chandrababau Naidu was highly corrupt. He said that it was not just the general public who were insecure, even temples and Gods were not safe in the TDP rule. As part of YS Jagan's historic mass outreach programme, Praja Sankalpa Yatra, he visited the famous Brahmalingayya pond in Gannavaram near here today.
Locals from the area elaborated to YSRCP Chief about their woes and told him that though numerous times they had complained to the police about the illegal transportation of sand and mud from the pond, they had not taken any action. Speaking to the media after the visit to the lake, YS Jagan pointed out that the TDP leaders were involved in huge corruption in the name of Neru-Chettu (Water-Tree) programme. Despite large scale opposition from the public, the TDP leaders continued to indulge in illegal transportation of sand and mud, he observed.
YS Jagan remarked that the TDP leaders shifted the idols from the place of worship overnight because the temple was obstructing their transactions. Brahmalingayya pond was not an isolated case and many ponds in the state were facing similar fate, he added.
