entered into Mahabubnagar district to a rousing reception by the people on
Thursday.
Thousands of Mahabubnagar
district people, who waited for hours together, greeted her with a big bang
when Sharmila arrived at the Tungabhadra Bridge linking the Kurnool and
Mahabubnagar districts.
Sharmila, who completed
her 200 km walk in Kurnool district, set her foot on Telangana soil around 3 PM
to begin her 225-km Padayatra in Mahabubnagar district.
Originally, Sharmila
was scheduled to enter Mahabubnagar district around 1 PM but the entry was
delayed due to unscheduled stoppages during the Padayatra. Sharmila,
accompanied by a battery of YSRCP leaders and tens of hundreds of activists, reached
Tungabhadra Bridge in the Alampur constituency two hours late by the scheduled
time.
During a span of 15 days, Sharmila will stroll through many hamlets and
villages in the constituencies of Alampur, Gadwal, Maktal, Devarakadra, Mahabubnagar,
Jadcherla and Shadnagar.
Beginning with Mahabubnagar district, Sharmila’s Padayatra will pass through
Ranga Reddy and Nalgonda districts on the Telangana region and then through
coastal districts of Guntur and Krishna before entering Khammam district on the
Telangana soil again.
Sharmila began her Maro Praja Prasthanam on behalf of YSRCP
chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Oct 18 at Idupulapaya in YSR district, entered
into Kurnool district on Nov 8 after completing her Padayatra in YSR and
