TDP not sincere in its fight: Sharmila

Vijayawada, March 28,
2013: Taking a dig at the TDP leaders’ hunger strike against the hike in power
tariff and the Government’s decision to impose more surcharges on the power consumers,
Smt. Y.S. Sharmila said that TDP leaders’ fight on the power problems is not
genuine as they have no sincerity.

“If the TDP is really
sincere on the issue, it would have supported the recent no-confidence motion
in the assembly,” she told a public meeting on the second day of her Padayatra
in Vijayawada town on Wednesday.

She said if the TDP had supported the no-confidence
motion, the anti-people Government would have fallen and the people spared of
the additional burden of the power surcharges, she observed.

“What is the fun of protesting against the
Government’s decisions now by not supporting the no-trust vote then?” Smt.
Sharmila asked Chandrababu Naidu, charging him with selling his party to the
Congress and protecting it.

Wondering how long Chandrababu Naidu will continue
to stage political dramas and cheat people by telling lies, she recounted the
words of Dr YSR over the curse of a sage to Naidu. “Father used to tell me
about the curse.  The curse is that
Naidu’s head will be broken into 1000 pieces whenever he speaks the truth. This
is the reason why Naidu always prefers to lie,” Smt. Sharmila said in a
sarcastic note.

On one hand, we have an inefficient Government and
on the other we have a useless opposition. Contrary to what he is telling during
his Padayatra, Chandrababu Naidu has been willfully protecting the Government.

Wine
shops in the midst of residential houses

At a Rachchabanda programme earlier, several women
complained to Smt. Sharmila about the wine shops and belt shops situated in
their colonies. “All our family earnings are going down the drain as our men
have become addicts and no one listens to our woes,” they told her.

Sharmila assured them that YSRCP, after coming to
power, will take steps to remove the wine and belt shops from the residential
colonies.
