TDP tax is being implemented in Anaparthy

Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addressed a massive public gathering at Golla Mamidada in Pedapudi mandal in Anaparthy constituency of East Godavari district, as part of his mass outreach programme, Praja Sankalpa Yatra on Day 212. The people's leader thanked the public for joining him in the padayatra.

I have learnt from the local farmers that on the lines of GST, the TDP tax is being implemented in the region, YS Jagan said. The farmers said that the official responsibility of tax collection is given to the local MLA, who would get one-third of the share and sends the remaining to IT Minister Nara Lokesh through the district collectors, he added.

The Leader of Opposition said that under the special taxation of TDP, a bribe of Rs 1 lakh per acre is charged for land conversion. In 2014, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu vowed to ban all liquor shops in the state. But, after four years years of his rule, he has ensured that every village had a liquor shop, YS Jagan said. Women in this constituency had a common grievance on the mushrooming of belt shops and complained that liquor addiction was destroying the lives of youth, he added.

Launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for lack of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for rice crops, YS Jagan said that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government had completely failed to deliver on its 2014 election promises.

"I interacted with a few farmers, who explained to me about their sorry state in the last four years. The government has not provided even the minimum support price (MSP) for the rice crop. Farmers of this region, who are in distress informed me that the rice crop is hardly paid Rs 1,130 by the brokers, while the MSP is Rs 1,550," YS Jagan said.

The reason lies in the fact that Chandrababu is the leader of all the brokers. Chandrababu's Heritage company purchases crops for lesser price from farmers and sells its products for 3-4 times the price, he said. During Rajanna Rajyam, farmers availed interest-free loans from the banks, but, in Chandrababu's rule, the farmer loans are completely ignored, he said.

Lingala and Venkata Raju rivers, among several others in this constituency are witness to open smuggling of sand amid backlash from the local public, YS Jagan said. The TDP leaders are minting money by transporting the sand to Ravulapalem and Amalapuram, he added.

In Bikkavolu mandal of this constituency, Chandrababu allotted 32 acres of land, which costs Rs 50 lakhs per acre, under the Land Ceiling Act to an association led by TDP Rajya Sabha MP Murali Mohan's daughter, at just 8 lakhs per acre, YS Jagan pointed out.

Of the many election promises made by Chandrababu in 2014, he promised to shut KPR Industries, which are severely damaging the environment in the region, he said. But, after 4 years of Chandrababu's rule, KPR Industries continue to cause difficulties to the local public, he added.

"Why did Chandrababu not cancel the permits of KPR Industries? On this ocassion, I request the KPR Industries management to shift their unit to an appropriate place," he asserted. If elected to power, I promise to support the KPR Industries in shifting their base to the Visakhapatnam Pharma SEZ, he said.

After YSRCP comes to power, we will reinstate the work of houses for all scheme, emulating Rajanna Rajyam, during which former Chief Minister, late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy allotted 36 acres in Anaparthy, 32 acres in Bikkavolu and 16,000 houses were built for the poor, YS Jagan said.
