TDP looking for cheap publicity

Hyderabad, July 3, 2013: Criticising
TDP for trying to politicise the Uttakahad relief work, YSR Congress has said
that the Leader of Opposition has been trying to cover up his laxity in
attending to the people’s problems by making an issue out of the natural
calamity.
“TDP leaders
and N Chandrababu Naidu have been trying to eke out cheap publicity out of the
gory tragedy at Uttarakhand only to divert the attention of the people as they
failed in their duty of questioning the state government when it has been
increasing the power charges, fertilizer prices and petroleum products,” Party
leader Perni Nani told reporters here on Tuesday.
TDP leader Y
Ramakrishnudu has been critical about the issue, though it is a fact that YSR
Congress was the first to send a medical team to Uttarakhand for relief
operations. Ramakrishnudu, being the leader of the Party in the Council instead
of questioning the anti-people policies of the Congress has been resorting to
cheap gimmicks, he said.
“All this
shows that that TDP and Congress are afraid of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as YSRCP
has been in the forefront and is getting wide public support,” he said.
On the
remarks of senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh, he said “it is unbecoming of
him to pass such comments like DNA. Country wide many people came out of
Congress and had started separate parties due to difference of opinion.
Even
Chandrababu Naidu was with Congress though switched sides for selfish reasons.
Digvijay
Singh’s remarks on the politico-entrepreneurial status of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy
are uncalled for. There are many politicians who have business houses and vice
versa. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had to plunge into active politics only after the
death of his father and started the party when things were clear that there was
no room in Congress Party to carry out the ideology of YSR,” he said.
On Telangana,
he said the Party stand was clearly told to the Centre and there is no change
on the issue.
