Chandrababu betrayed employees; Rs. 40,000 cr dues still unpaid

Tadepalli, Oct 29: YSRCP Employees and Pensioners Wing State President Nalamaaru Chandrasekhar Reddy said the Chandrababu Naidu government had betrayed employees by failing to implement promises on PRC, Interim Relief, DA arrears and pending financial benefits exceeding Rs. 40,000 crore.
He demanded immediate implementation of the PRC due from 2023, at least 30 per cent Interim Relief and release of three pending DAs. With essential commodity prices rising sharply, the government must also address the financial burden on employees, teachers and pensioners, regularise eligible contract employees and provide promotions, notional increments and service benefits to Village Secretariat staff.
Chandrasekhar Reddy demanded clearance of EHS dues to hospitals so employees and pensioners could receive uninterrupted treatment, along with appropriate TET exemption for teachers nearing retirement.
He sought Rs. 5 crore compensation each and government employment for eligible dependents of Secretariat employee Kalam Saraswathi and electricity employee Pydiraju, who lost their lives during cyclone relief duties.
He also demanded an inquiry into reports that contract and outsourcing employees at Anantapur Government Hospital were threatened over support to a BJP mayoral candidate, and action over the transfer of a home guard in Alur after his wife entered the MPTC contest. Employees and their family members have a democratic right to participate in politics without intimidation, he said.
Chandrasekhar Reddy called upon employees, teachers, pensioners and contract and outsourcing staff to exercise their voting rights, including postal ballots for those on election duty, and respond democratically to the government’s failure to honour its commitments.
