Hyderabad, Dec25, 2012:
The signature campaign launched by YSR Congress Party protesting against the
illegal arrest of its president Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is in full swing
across the state with party leaders and activists fanning out in their
respective areas meeting people and collecting signatures.
The ‘People’s Signature
for Jagan’ (Jagan Kosam Janam Santhakam) programme, aimed at collecting one
crore signatures has been eliciting enthusiastic response from the public,
according to reports reaching here from the districts.
In the districts of
Adilabad, Guntur, Khammam, Krishna, Kurnool, Nalgonda, Nellore, Srikakulam,
Vijayanagaram and West Godavari, party leaders, accompanied by scores of
activists, have been interacting with people of all segments and collecting
signatures on the appeal to be sent to the President of India Pranab Mukherjee.
The appeal says that
Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy has been jailed illegally as a result of the conspiracy
by Congress and TDP and CBI, working as a political tool at their behest, has
been victimizing him. The appeal seeks the intervention of Pranab Mukherjee to
stop the political victimization of Jagan Mohan Reddy.
In most of the towns in these districts, people have
lined up at party offices and at the signature camps organized by the local
leaders and are competing with each other to affix their signatures on the
appeal.
