Hyderabad, Jan 26, 2013:
Smt. Y.S. Sharmila, who temporarily suspended her Maro Praja Prasthanam
Padayatra due to a ligament injury in her right leg last month, is medically
fit and likely to resume her Padayatra in the first week of February.
Smt. Sharmila underwent
medical tests at Apollo Hospital here on Saturday. The team of doctors, who
performed key-hole surgery on her on Dec 18, 2012, conducted the
tests to determine her fitness to resume the Padayatra.
Dr. Chandrasekhara Reddy
and Dr. Madan Mohan Reddy, who evaluated the medical test results, declared her
medically fit to resume the Padayatra. She can take her normal walk from today,
they said.
“She can walk normally
but she needs physiotherapy morning and evening daily,” the doctors said. A
team of doctors are also likely to accompany Smt. Y.S. Sharmila whenever she
resumes her Maro Praja Prasthanam.
Meanwhile, YSR Congress
Party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma told reporters here that the party will discuss
the issue and announce the exact date of resuming the Padayatra in a couple of
days.
