Seema Andhra will turn into Sahara

Ichchapuram, Aug 5,
2013:  Expressing serious concern that Seema
Andhra area would transform itself into another Sahara desert if Andhra Pradesh
is divided, Smt. Y.S. Sharmila castigated the Congress leadership for unilaterally
deciding on the division of the state for mere political considerations.

Addressing a sea of
humanity on the conclusion of her historic Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra at
Ichchapuram in Srikakulam district on Sunday, she said Congress bosses must recognize
the fact that Seema Andhra people also have a right over Hyderabad city built
over a period of 60 years.

She warned that Seema
Andhra would turn into a desert with only sea water being left for the people
to drink let alone think of irrigation water. “Knowing full well that Seema
Andhra people will not have water even to drink if the state is divided, the
congress leadership has resorted to this sin only for political considerations,”
she remarked.

We are not getting
water unless the Almatti and Narayanapur dams in Karnataka and other dams in
Maharashtra are filled up, she said, posing a question how Sri Sailam and Nagarjuna
Sagar dams would get water if the state is divided without solving the
concerned issues.

Taking a dig at the
Congress leadership for saying that Polavaram Project would be accorded
national status, she wondered how the project would draw water. “There is no
drinking water source for Seema Andhra as the entire belt from Kuppam to
Srikakulam will only be left with salt water of the sea,” she said.

She said the Madras
city had been taken away in the past and now the Hyderabad city is also being
taken away in the most unjustified manner 60 years after the city has been built.
Lambasting the Congress for taking a unilateral decision on the Telangana
issue, she asserted that Hyderabad city was for all and Seema Andhra people
have also a right over it.
