SCS, the future of youth

Vizianagaram, Dec 19: Reiterating that special category status (SCS) is the only solution to improve the standard of living, Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that the time is ripe to fight for a job revolution as the TDP government has been trying to water down the just demand of the people.

Addressing a large gathering of youth and students at the Yuva Bheri here on Monday, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said as YSR has revolutionized education and Medicare through fees reimbursement and Aarogyasri and it is time to revolutionize employment sector through special category status.

It is only through special category status that the youth would find more and more employment opportunities and should fight to achieve it despite the efforts of Chandrababu Naidu to water down the issue.

Venkaiah Naidu and Chandrababu Naidu, who have sought special status while in opposition they have changed tune after coming to power. Now they are putting forth the talk of special package which cannot be a substitute to special status. Union Ministers have been telling that they have given Andhra Pradesh more than what other states got. In reality they did not give anything out of turn and the allotment of institutions or funds given were also given to all the states and there is nothing exclusive for our state.

Chandrababu Naidu has compromised the special status for his personal gains as he is deeply immersed in corruption charges and his involvement in the cash for vote case has made him very vulnerable.

To divert the topic the Chief Minister has been projecting inflated figures of growth rate which do not correspond to the indicators as the farming, industrial production and services have seen a slump and he has been pegging the growth rate at 12.2 % which cannot be vouched for immediately.

It was only during YSR term did the term exclusive growth took shape with farmers, women, workers and all sections getting their due. His Jalayagnam, housing and other schemes have overtaken the national average and quality of life and standard of living was very high.

The claims of Chandrababu Naidu on growth rate and economy buoyancy do not reflect in the indicators which show that his figures are a bundle of lies, he said.  He appealed to the students to join hands in the fight for special category status as that is the future of the youth.

Later students have vented their ire on the state government on unemployment stipend and lack of employment opportunities.
