Naidu slammed for not keeping promises

Atmakur, Dec 1, 2012:
Smt. Sharmila, who has been undertaking Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on
behalf of YSR Congress Party chief Sri Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, lashed out at
the TDP President Chandrababu Naidu for not keeping his promise of providing
free education to the girls.
Before coming to power,
Naidu promised to provide free education to all girls and deposit Rs.5000 each in
the name of new born baby girls but after coming to power Naidu forgot to
implement the promise on free education, Smt. Sharmila told a huge public
meeting at Atmakuru in Mahabubnagar district on Friday.
She said during the
nine and a half years of Naidu’s rule, only 4 lakh girls were benefited under
the scheme while five and a half lakh girls received the benefit of deposit
during the regime of Dr. Y.S.R.
“Dr. Y.S.R. never
promised such a scheme but implemented it to keep the girls happy with a view
to help them financially,” Smt. Sharmila said.
She said Dr. Y.S.R
implemented the programme with a better purpose and deposited Rs.1lakh for the
first born baby girl and Rs.30,000 for the second born baby girl. Smt. Sharmila
asked whether Naidu at any time thought about the violation of his promise to the
girls.
She slammed Naidu for
keeping silent and not moving no-confidence motion against the Government even
though people of all walks of life are suffering because of the anti-people
policies.
