*YSRCP seeks verification of electoral rolls, action against bogus votes across Andhra Pradesh*

Tadepalli, July 29: YSRCP State General Secretary and MLC Lella Appi Reddy has written separate letters to the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Andhra Pradesh, urging them to protect the integrity, transparency and credibility of the electoral rolls. He called for strict implementation of the principle of "One Person, One Vote" and sought a comprehensive verification of suspected duplicate and bogus votes across all 175 Assembly constituencies.

Referring to Kuppam Assembly constituency, Appi Reddy said the party had identified 36,388 suspected duplicate and multiple voter registrations, accounting for 16.03 percent of the total electorate. He urged the ECI to conduct an immediate investigation and provide an Action Taken Report on the representation submitted by the YSRCP on July 21, 2026. He said Kuppam was only one example and demanded similar booth-wise and EPIC-wise verification across the State. He stressed that no genuine voter should be deleted without due legal process, individual notice and physical verification.

Appi Reddy also requested the Chief Electoral Officer to provide ASDD (Absent, Shifted, Dead/Duplicate) lists to recognised political parties in both hard and soft copy formats before the publication of the draft electoral rolls under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR). He said this would help parties identify genuine errors and ensure that no eligible voter loses the right to vote due to clerical or administrative mistakes.

He further requested the Election Commission to coordinate with neighbouring States to verify suspected inter-state duplicate registrations using ERONET, EPIC data, demographic details and photograph matching, while ensuring that no voter is removed solely on the basis of automated software matching without following the prescribed legal procedure.
