Naidu should accept YSR greatness

Taking a dig at the dharna held by the TDP President N. Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad today seeking full fee reimbursement for all engineering students, YSR Congress party asserted Naidu has no right to talk about the scheme.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in Hyderabad, YSR Congress spokesperson Vasireddy Padma asked Naidu to first declare that there is no alternative to the fee reimbursement scheme introduced and implemented by YSR before taking up such dharnas.

“Naidu should have introspection over the issue as he remained silent all these days,” she said and accused Naidu of trying to get political mileage from his dharna.
She also sought an assurance from the TDP president that his party would implement the fee reimbursement scheme in its original form if it was voted to power.

“You must know that YSR had appreciated the Rs.2 kg rice scheme introduced by NTR as it was a good one. YSR had the guts and wits to appreciate it before demanding its reintroduction when you were chief minister,” she told Naidu asking him to accept the greatness of the schemes implemented by YSR.

Padma said Naidu wanted to make political use of the unrest prevailing among students because of the dilution of the scheme by the Kiran Kumar Reddy government. “If you are sincere about seeking full reimbursement of fees to all students, why didn’t you mention it in your election manifesto?” she asked.

Heckles at TDP dharna on power crisis

Padma also criticized the TDP dharna at Tirupati on the power crisis in the state and sought an apology from its president for alleging that YSR policies were responsible for the present power crisis.

Observing that TDP has been resorting to vote bank politics over the power crisis, Padma also sought an explanation for the lapses of the TDP government on the power front. “Since you are seeking a solution to the power crisis in the state, you owe an explanation for the Basheerbabh firing and the cases foisted on farmers in the past,” she said.

She described the TDP dharna on power crisis as high drama and observed it has no moral right to talk about the power crisis. “Anyone can speak on the power situation except Naidu or his party,” she said.

Party ready to face elections

Padma said the YSRCP is ready to face any elections in the state. “We are well prepared for any elections, especially the local body elections.

Accusing that the government has postponed the local body elections on some pretext or the other all these days, she said people are facing lot of problems because of the administration by special officers.
“Government fears that the Congress party will lose in the elections and for this reason only it has postponed them all these days but now it can’t escape,” she observed.
