27 May 2016 1:05 PM

Narasaraopet: YSRCP MPTCs demanded for cancellation of Janmabhoomi committees appointed by Telugu Desam. They complained about irregularities taking place in the construction of toilets in the mandal as part of Swaccha Bharat. A meeting was held at the Mandal Parishad office, presided by MPP K. Prabhakar Rao. Jonnalagadda MPTC Pothireddy Sivareddy stated that Janmabhoomi Committees had been taking important role in the construction of toilets and had not been offering necessary importance to MPTCs. He explained that contracts for the construction were being given to the allies of those in the committees rather than to the deserving contractors. Vice-president of the mandal parishad reported that the construction of toilets in the ST colony of Lingamguntla was stopped due to the relevant bills not being cleared. He complained that already-existing toilets also were being portrayed as new ones in accounts. Participating in the meeting were MEO Jaya Kumar, housing AE Sundaram, ACDPO Kamalakshi, Panchayti Raj AE Harnath and EOPRD Siva Subrahmanyam.
