Jagan’s Deeksha to highlight Babu’s failures

Hyderabad, Reiterating that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Farmers’ Deeksha on January 31 and February 1is to highlight the failure of Chandrababu Naidu in keeping up his election promises, YSR Congress has demanded a white paper on the status of loan waiver scheme.
“TDP leaders are questioning as to why Jagan Mohan Reddy is undertaking the deeksha feigning ignorance while in reality they know that their leader has miserably failed in keeping up the election promises.
The Deeksha is to give voice to the farmers, women and other sections who were deceived by Chandrababu Naidu by not fulfilling the poll promises,” party senior leader Dharmana Prasada Rao told reporters here on Wednesday.
We demand the State Government to release a white paper on how much loan was waived and the total amount of loans the farmers owe to the banks in the State. The 184th State Level Bankers Committee meeting has clearly mentioned that “as farmers did not repay the loans we could not disburse the Rs 56,000 crores earmarked to agriculture by December 2014 and only 23 % disbursement could take place.”
The farmers have no input subsidy and are not eligible for crop insurance. They are unable to get MSP due to TDP’s faulty policy, he said adding that the Party is fully conscious that the verdict given to TDP is for five years and the statements of TDP leaders that Jagan is power hungry have no relevance.
While total loan waiver was promised before the polls, the amount of over Rs 1 lakh crores was scaled down to on some pretext or the other and of the Rs 5,000 crores allotted in the budget only Rs 3,900 crores was released.
The false promise has degraded the rural economy badly and we will be fighting on their behalf and voice their concern during the deeksha, he said.
