Nizampatnam: YSRCP's state general secretary, Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao, cautioned the Government that it would not be tolerated if the poor's houses were messed up with. Women from Gokarnamatam village met him on Tuesday at his house and explained their problems to him. Revealing that 34 families had been living in the land that belongs to Gokarneswara Swamy temple for the past 60 years, they said that endowments department had recently issued notices to them to vacate the place.
In response to this, Mopidevi slammed the officers for troubling the people who had been living there for years. He suggested that the endowments department should instead collect the price of the lands from the residents as per Government's norms and let them stay there.
