In a clear rebuff, the High Court refused to exempt Andhra Jyothi managing director Vemuri Radhakrishna from appearance in the court in connection with the case pertaining to deliberately misleading stories against YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. It not just rejected his quash petition and categorically said that Radhakrishna has to be present in the court during the hearing.
Andhra Jyothi had published stories saying that YS Jagan had met Prime Minister Modi to plead for waterning down the cases against him and quoted a letter written years ago to support its story.YSRCP had actually explained to the media the reason for meeting Modi and has released the petition submitted to Modi. Yet, Andhra Jyothi tried to suppress this and peddle false stories imputing motives to YS Jagan. However, the YSRCP has exposed the deliberately written fake story. Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy had filed a defamation case against Andhra Jyothi and its MD.
Seeking exemption from appearing in the court, Radhakrishna said he has to cover the assembly proceedings. But, the court has rejected his contention and asked him to be present in all the hearings.
