Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh may go around the world with requests for investments, but AP Chief Minister does not seem to bother about it. He is splurging money on inaugurations, ribbon cuttings and even for bathing. Yes. He holy dip in River Krishna during the 2016 Pushkarams costed no less than Rs 2.41 crores.
That’s not all, everytime Chandrababu opens his mouth in any public meeting, he drains the state’s exchequer like no one’s business. The government spent Rs 18,26,73,821 for various inaugurations, unveilings and ribbon cuttings in Guntur district alone. This bill is from Guntur district. If one takes into account all ther district, CM’s programmes may be costing over 150 crore in the state in an year. This does not include his expenses during foreign tours.
But, the real twist in the tale is that these bills are of 2016 and the contractors are yet to get the amounts. The contractors are making rounds of the Guntur district collector and the collector in turn wrote to AP chief secretary to make the payments. At this rate, in his five year term, Chandrababu would be spending over 1000 crore for his official programmes in the state.
