Close Down Belt Shops

Vijayawada: YSR Congress Party MLA RK Roja demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government close down all belt shops within 15 days. Demanding their closure, the YSRCP MLA along with the party leaders submitted a memorandum at the excise commissioner's office at Prasadampadu near here today.
Speaking to the media, Roja said that instead of controlling the problem of liquor in the state, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has let it to flow freely. Liquor is very easily available at all the places in the state. She remarked that Chandrababu government was not working towards women's empowerment.
The YSRCP MLA blamed the present TDP government and Chandrababu for all the crimes that were happening in AP. If government signs any order it should be implemented immediately, but that was not far from what we have been seeing under the present government, she said. Roja added that such stern action against belt shops would happen only under YSRCP's rule. She observed that excise officials were misguiding even the courts.
