Kurnool: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers attempted to halt YSR Congress party (YSRCP) MLA Ijaiah's speech at the launch of the 'Mukhyamanthri Yuvanestham' here today. In the Yuvaneshtham program organised here in Nandikotkur, the MLA said the State government was doing injustice to the students by providing just Rs 1,000 after promising to give Rs 2,000 towards the allowance. The YSRCP leader boycotted the meeting in protest against the TDP after the officials and the police stayed mum.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who had promised to provide an unemployment allowance of Rs 2,000 to all the unemployed youth during the 2014 elections, had curtailed the amount provided to Rs 1,000. In an interactive session with the students at Amaravati earlier today, the TDP Chief faced tough questions from them. One student, to the shock of Chandrababu, asked if the scheme was being rolled out on the eve of elections.
