*YS Jagan condemns attack on farmers’ godown in Ponnur*

Tadepalli, May 14: Farmers from Mamillapalli village in Ponnur mandal of Guntur district met former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli and explained the attack carried out by TDP leaders and supporters on a godown where they had stored maize due to lack of remunerative prices. The farmers stated that TDP goons broke open the godown locks with iron rods, created destruction, and assaulted those who tried to resist. They, along with godown owner Soda Samudrayya and Ponnur YSRCP in-charge Ambati Murali Krishna, showed YS Jagan photographs and videos of the incident. Nearly 500 TDP leaders, activists, and supporters created havoc in Mamillapalli under the encouragement of Ponnur TDP MLA Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar.
YS Jagan expressed serious anger over the incident and condemned the attack on farmers who had merely stored their produce due to lack of fair market prices. He described the attack on the godown as a barbaric act and strongly objected to the filing of atrocity cases against the victimised farmers instead of taking action against the attackers. Assuring full support to the affected families, YS Jagan said the YSRCP Legal Cell would extend all necessary legal assistance and that the party would stand firmly with the farmers in their fight for justice.
Several YSRCP leaders from Ponnur also met YS Jagan during the occasion.
