Blood donation, prayers mark YSR Jayanti

Hyderabad, July 8,
2013: On the 64th birth anniversary of the late Chief Minister Dr.
Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy on Monday, YSR family members, YSR Congress Party leaders and
activists and YSR fans paid rich tributes to the legendary leader and vowed to
rededicate themselves to the service of the people.
Party cadres across the
state organized blood donation camps and poor feeding programmes on the
occasion. In most places, they have visited hospitals, old age and orphan homes
and distributed fruits and blankets.
The YSR family members
including the party honourary president Smt. Y.S.Vijayamma, Smt. Y.S.Bharati
and others visited the YSR Ghat at Idupulapaya in YSR district and participated
in all religious prayers. They also paid floral tributes at the YSR Samadhi.
Smt. Y.S. Sharmila, who
has presently been leading her Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra in Visakhapatnam
district, donated blood and garlanded the statue of YSR at Sari Pally.
She also met the blind
and orphan students and distributed books, fruits and dresses besides
participating in an all religious prayer meeting.
Thousands of people also
visited the YSR Ghat and paid homage to the late leader.
Almost all villages in
the state witnessed the garlanding of YSR statues by his fans who they said
took their inspiration from the late CM who won a permanent place in the hearts
of millions of people through his innovative welfare programmes.
A programme was held at
the YSRCP headquarters where leaders and activists garlanded the photo of the
late leader and recalled his services.
