1.78 Crore people oppose political vendetta

Hyderabad, January 12: The signature campaign in support of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and highlighting the vindictive style of functioning of CBI has drawn huge response and is likely to touch the two crore mark.

“As on date over 1.78 crore people have volunteered to sign in favour of YS Jagan and to express their resentment against CBI style of functioning. We have sought an appointment with the President and once we get that we will submit a letter with the signatures to him,” party leaders Dr MV Mysoora Reddy, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Bajireddy Goverdhan and Rehman told reporters here on Saturday.

Though we started the campaign as “one crore signatures in support of Jagan”, the overwhelming response has taken the figure to over 1.78 cores and is likely to touch 2 crore mark, they said.

People have belief in YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership and they strongly believe that CBI has been trying to drag the case to the maximum possible extent only to keep YS Jagan in jail. The response to the signature campaign says it all, they said.

The signatures will be equally distributed in boxes and sent to the President Pranab Mukherjee along with the general view of the public that CBI has been very selective in dealing the case and has gone against it own manual, they said.

The signatures will also be copied in CD. We will give them personally to the President after he confirms our appointment, they said.

There is no convincing reply as to why YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has to be in jail for more than seven months while the actual persons who issued the GOs are getting legal aid and are moving free.

People are unable to digest this injustice and the signature campaign has provided them with a plank to vent their ire, they said.
