TDP leaders trying to manipulate the natural deaths: Kannababu

Kakinada: Minister for Agriculture Kurasala Kannababu flayed Chandrababu Naidu for his baseless allegations on farmers' suicides.

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, the Minister said that opposition leaders are trying to manipulate the natural deaths as farmers suicides and falsely accusing the State government without any proof. He stated that such manipulations are clear indications of the criminal attitude of Chandrababu Naidu and said that the government is ready to share full data.  Chandrababu Naidu was never concerned about the farmers who have committed suicide during his term and the compensation was paid by our Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

About 417 farmers who committed suicide during TDP term were compensated by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government.  In 2015, TDP forged the numbers and only 70 families of the farmer’s suicides were compensated, whereas remaining 187 families were left in the lurch. After a re-verification by the YSRC government, compensation to those 187 farmers families was paid.

Likewise, in 2016, the TDP government identified 57 farmers as committed suicide but YSRCP reverified and identified 76 members. In 2017, 85 were identified by TDP but YSRCP identified another 96 cases. In 2018, 133 were identified by TDP and YSRCP identified another 32 and in 2019, 296 farmers have committed suicide and 124 members in 2020. All the pending cases were compensated by the YSRCP government, he said.

While the government is prioritizing the farmers in the state and delivering welfare schemes to every beneficiary TDP is trying to damage the government is every possible way for its political mileage. Starting from the seed distribution to facilitating MSP and marketing of crops, the YSRCP government has systematically planned to ensure that there shall be no irregularities in the entire process to benefit every farmer in the state, said Minister.
