YSRCP leaders recall legacy of freedom fighter Vadde Obanna

Tadepalli, Jan 11:YSR Congress Party leaders and members of the Vaddera community observed the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Vadde Obanna at the YSRCP Central Office in Tadepalli, paying rich tributes to his courage and role in the freedom struggle. Leaders recalled that Vadde Obanna, who served as a military commander to Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, fought bravely against the British through guerrilla warfare and became a symbol of resistance and valour. Floral tributes were offered to his portrait, and the contributions of Vaddera leaders such as Vadde Ramadasu were also remembered on the occasion.
Speaking at the programme, Vaddera community representatives stated that YSRCP president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had given unprecedented political encouragement and representation to the community, and asserted that the Vaddera community’s support would always remain with the YSR Congress Party. They recalled that during the YSRCP government, the community was given significant political opportunities, including an MLA seat, chairperson posts in Macherla, Cheemakurthi and Pulivendula municipalities, and the position of Zilla Parishad Chairperson in Guntur district. They expressed gratitude to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and said the community would repay this political confidence in the coming elections.
Appireddy stated that the Vaddera community shares an inseparable bond with the Y.S. family, noting that while Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had socially, economically, and politically empowered the community, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy further strengthened and expanded this support during his tenure as Chief Minister. The programme was attended by former MLA Malladi Vishnu, Guntur ZP Chairperson Battula Anuradha, SC Cell Working President Kommuri Kanaka Rao, Grievance Cell President Ankamreddy Narayanamurthy, Student Wing President Panuganti Chaitanya, BC Cell General Secretary Battula Ramarao, Chittoor district Social Media Advisor Pawan, High Court advocate Baby Rani, and several leaders from party-affiliated wings.
