Tadepalli, March 08: YSRCP celebrated International Women’s Day at the Party office here on Saturday with former minister RK Roja and Women’s Wing President Varudu Kalyani in attendance. The event began with floral tributes to YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s statue, honouring his legacy.
RK Roja criticized Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of betraying women by failing to deliver election promises, including the Rs 1,500 monthly ‘Aadabidda Nidhi’ scheme. She blamed the TDP-led coalition for women’s declining safety amid rising liquor and ganja issues, even in Naidu’s Kuppam, and called his leadership a “misfortune” for women. Roja contrasted this with the empowerment efforts of YS Rajasekhara Reddy and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Varudu Kalyani echoed Roja, slamming the coalition for dismantling the Disha system and neglecting women’s security, leaving it “like a lamp in the wind.” She criticized unfulfilled promises like free bus travel and accused the government of turning Andhra Pradesh into “Madyandhra Pradesh” with rampant liquor and drugs. Kalyani urged women to unite to bring back YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as Chief Minister.
The event saw participation from leaders like Shaik Noor Fatima, Kripajyothi, and Rajani, who pledged to counter misinformation against Jagan and fight for women’s rights.
