YS Jagan slams Naidu’s deception of employees

Tadepalli, October 6: Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched a scathing attack on Chandrababu Naidu for deceiving government employees and turning every assurance given before elections into a cruel betrayal.
Taking to X platform, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said employees were given lofty promises before 2024 elections, but two years later, not one has been fulfilled. “Employees expected relief, fair salaries and justice, but what they received is neglect, denial and humiliation. This government has made betrayal its policy,” he said.
He also raised key issues pertaining to Employees:

    •    False Promises & Cabinet Betrayal: Every Cabinet meeting raises hopes among employees about dues and promises, but no decisions are taken. Instead, Naidu’s focus remains on land deals while ignoring employees and people.

    •    Interim Relief (IR) & PRC: Within one week of forming government in 2019, YSRCP granted IR, constituted PRC, and appointed a Chairman. Naidu gave no IR, dismissed the PRC Chairman and left the post vacant, stalling pay revision and deliberately denying employees their rightful dues.

    •    Dearness Allowance (DA): Four DA installments remain pending. Employees hoped for payment during Dasara, now even Deepavali is approaching with no relief in sight.

    •    CPS/GPS/OPS Betrayal: Naidu promised OPS and claimed to end CPS. In reality, there has been no review. YSRCP introduced GPS as an alternative, now adopted by several states. Naidu has left employees stranded without CPS, OPS or GPS.

    •    Rs. 31,000 Crore Arrears: Huge dues are pending under PRC arrears, DA, GPF, APGLI, medical reimbursements, retirement benefits and leave encashment. Employees are forced to suffer while their rightful payments are withheld.

    •    Salaries & Pensions: Naidu promised payment on the 1st of every month. Today, salaries and pensions are delayed and uncertain. YS Jagan reminded that even during COVID-19, YSRCP ensured timely payments, but Naidu government is failing without such challenges.

    •    Contract & Outsourcing Employees: Naidu promised benefits but did nothing. APCOS, which ended middlemen and ensured transparency, was scrapped, bringing back the old dalari system.

    •    YSRCP’s Record on Outsourcing Salaries: During YSRCP’s tenure, salaries of outsourcing and contract staff were increased significantly. The monthly wage bill rose from Rs. 1,100 crore to Rs. 3,000 crore. Employees were paid on the 1st of every month without any cuts through APCOS. Now, salaries are irregular and delayed after APCOS was dismantled.

    •    Volunteers & Sachivalayam Staff: Naidu promised to double volunteers’ salaries but instead cut off their livelihood, leaving them on the streets. Village and Ward Secretariat staff too have been betrayed.

    •    Collapse of Public Health Institutions: Under Naidu, village clinics, PHCs and government hospitals have been pushed into dysfunction, with zero vacancies filled, leaving the medical system in ruins.

    •    Healthcare (EHS): EHS funds have not been released. Hospitals are refusing treatment, rendering employees’ health cards useless. Both government contribution and employees’ contributions remain unpaid.

    •    RTC & Contract Staff Regularisation: YSRCP regularized 52,000 RTC workers and initiated the process for 10,117 contract staff, issuing appointment orders to 3,400. Naidu government is deliberately withholding the remaining appointments, playing with the lives of workers.
“For two years, CM Chandrababu Naidu government has only deceived employees and the people. Salaries are delayed, arrears denied, health benefits withdrawn, promises forgotten. Every commitment made before elections has been broken. That is why employees are today taking to the streets against Chandrababu Naidu’s betrayal,” YS Jagan declared.
