Tadepalli, October 10: YSRCP Employees & Pensioners Wing State President NallamarU Chandrasekhar Reddy has strongly criticized the coalition government for failing to honor its promises to employees even after 16 months in power. Speaking to the media, he said not a single election assurance has been implemented, while employees are being harassed by withholding their rightful benefits. He demanded that in today’s Cabinet meeting, the government immediately announce at least 30% Interim Relief (IR), release the four pending DAs, and constitute the 12th PRC without further delay.
He pointed out that the dues owed to employees have mounted to Rs. 30,000 crore, covering retirement benefits, medical reimbursements, and other pending payments, yet the government has no plan to clear them. Employees had expected relief during Dasara, but their hopes were shattered, and now the government must at least deliver by Diwali. The Cabinet is focusing only on allotting lands to corporates instead of addressing people’s and employees’ issues.
Chandrasekhar further stated that while the government deducts Rs. 300 per month from employees towards health insurance, it has failed to add its share and pay hospitals. Instead, it is misusing employee contributions, leaving them unable to claim medical reimbursements. He demanded that Arogyasri's arrears to network hospitals be cleared immediately so that employees and pensioners can access cashless treatment.
He also sought justice for over 3 lakh CPS employees, demanding that the government review CPS and GPS and take a fair decision.
On the issues of GSWS employees, he said they are being forced to take up the work earlier done by volunteers, yet they are denied increments, promotions, and recognition.
The Employees, despite working in the same cadre for 25 years, have not received promotions. He demanded notional increments, promotions every six years, and automatic advancement schemes similar to those available to other government staff.
Teachers, too, have been staging protests, including a dharna in Vijayawada, seeking their pending benefits and expressing their inability to cope with multiple mobile app burdens. Primary school headmasters have also raised concerns over workload. Doctors working in PHCs are demanding restoration of 20% PG reservation, which the government has unfairly reduced to 15%.
Warning the government, Chandrasekhar said that all employee JACs across Andhra Pradesh are now rebelling against its betrayal, and if their genuine demands are not resolved immediately, employee agitations will intensify in the coming days.
