YS Jagan Launches Toll Free Number For Complaints Against Corruption

TADEPALLI: To curb sand smuggling, illegal hoarding and sale of sand at high prices, Andhra Pradesh government has launched a toll free number - 14500.
As part of this, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the 14500 toll free number on Monday, at the CM Camp office in Tadepalli.
The number was launched to bring public attention to report corruption of any form related to sand mining, transport, storage and sale.
He then called the toll free number and spoke to the officials working at the call centre there. The Chief Minister also made several suggestions to call centre employees on how to deal with the issues that might crop up in future.
The government as part of the new sand mining policy has come out with this endeavour to put an end to the sand mining mafia. As part of the new Sand policy, the Government has decided to impose a fine of Rs 2 lakh on those indulging in illegal storage, sale / resale and transportation of sand and imprisonment for up to 2 years for committing the offence.
The event was attended by Minister Peddi Reddy Ramachandra Reddy, Chief Secretary Neelam Sawhney, DGP Gautam Sawang and Task Force Chief Surendra Babu.
